2010 shortlist

Welcome to the Award website

The first ever Westminster Book Award was launched on World Book Day, 4th March 2010. Between March and June, Year 6 and 7 pupils in Westminster schools read a shortlist of six books and voted for their favourite.

The award is designed to show pupils that reading is a sociable activity to be enjoyed with friends at school and online, and also to make the move to secondary school an easier one for Year 6s and 7s.

DOG DAYS WINS 2010 AWARD

The winner of the 2010 award is Jeff Kinney's Dog Days (Diary of A Wimpy Kid series). Joe Craig entertained students from St Augustine's High, St George's and Barrow Hill at the finale ceremony held on 6th July 2010 at Westminster Central Library. You can view photos from the event in our Photo Gallery. Please don't forget to complete the "after" survey so we can find out what you thought about the Award!
